Position description
Arizona non-profit Mindfulness First is seeking a motivated and creative social media intern to help promote our mission of prioritizing mental health as a curriculum in K12 schools. The intern will assist in creating and publishing engaging content across our Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram channels as we transition to a new brand messaging strategy developed by Ideas Collide Marketing Agency. Mindfulness First is a pioneering nonprofit organization that teaches mindfulness curriculum in K12 settings and is piloting Mindfulness Coaches as full time positions in K12 schools, while creating a fully accessible curriculum for different identities, disabilities and backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and curate content for Mindfulness First's social media accounts with direction and supervision from our Director of Annual Giving and Communication
- Assist in creating visually appealing graphics and short videos
- Help manage social media posting schedules and monitor engagement
- Research and stay up-to-date with mental health topics and social media trends
- Work with Mindfulness First's team to ensure a smooth transition to the new branding and messaging
- Learn about brand messaging strategies and their implementation in social media
- Gain nonprofit experience and knowledge
Details:
- 10 hours per week
- $15 per hour
- Internship duration: Fall Semester with potential for more hours in Spring Semester
- Remote work with potential for in-person meetings
- Mentorship and guidance provided by experienced professionals
- Be a part of our new messaging campaign currently being developed by Ideas Collide
This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about rebranding strategies and their implementation in social media while supporting Mindfulness First's mission.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Current student at Arizona State University (ASU)
- Strong interest in mental health and well-being
- Established personal mindfulness practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
- Experience with graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Creativity, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
