Position description
Assistant Project Director
The Assistant Project Director works directly with the ASU Foundation (ASUF) leadership team to create and coordinate the execution of strategies, projects, reports, events, meetings, communications, and prospect/donor opportunities.
What you’ll do:
- Manages a portfolio of projects and initiatives in support of the ASUF and ASU leadership and management teams.
- Builds and develops relationships across the institutional enterprise for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing operations.
- Drafts development strategies and manages the change process to improve outcomes.
- Contributes to the strategic planning and development of various assets critical to projects and initiatives for business and revenue raising plans.
- Develops, implements, and coordinates routine reports and special communications.
- Proactively anticipates project needs and tasks to meet deliverables, outcomes and deadlines.
- Develops and continually manage project timelines in accordance with project needs.
- Participates in meetings and drives action items with leadership, stakeholders and various constituents from colleges, institutes, and units.
- Key liaison between foundation central services and college, institute, and unit development management
Qualifications
What you'll need:
- Skilled project manager with excellent organization and prioritization skills, able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with a high attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned tasks
- Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Foundation and University business and confidential prospect information
- Experienced in contributing to the creation of project budgets and supporting project plan development in alignment with business objectives.
- Strong and collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone at the highest levels
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines
- Advanced computer skills in a variety of Windows-based computer programs and technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Relevant qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of three (3) years of project management experience
Preferred education and experience
- Master’s degree
- Project management experience in a higher education setting
